Mad On The Moon is an independent electronic music label, production studio and living archive based in Milan, active since 2005.
It began as a space for music that did not fit comfortably within fixed definitions. Over time, it has developed through records, collaborations, remixes, studio productions and live experiences, moving freely across disco, house, dub, electro, techno, psychedelia and experimental music.
The catalogue is not built around a single genre or formula. Its identity comes from an approach: curiosity, personal relationships and the search for sounds capable of retaining their own character. Each release is treated as an individual project while remaining part of a wider and continuously evolving musical landscape.
Mad On The Moon is also a working electronic music studio. Synthesizers, drum machines, instruments, tape, digital systems and improvisation coexist within a production process that changes according to the needs of each project. The studio is used for composition, recording, arranging, remixing and developing live electronic performances.
Records are only one part of the story. Across the years, Mad On The Moon has brought together artists and producers from different scenes, releasing new music while periodically returning to unfinished recordings, overlooked material and fragments preserved in its archive.
This website is both the home of the label and a living record of that history. It collects releases, productions, live projects, collaborations and recovered material, a network of encounters, experiments and sounds that continues to expand.
Mad On The Moon was co-founded by Milan-based DJ, producer and composer Luca Saponaro, also known as Sapo.
