Mad On The Moon opens its 2013 programme with Radio Cash / The Money, a new four-track release by Italian afro-funk trio The Bank. Francesco Brini, Domenico Loparco and Emanuele Zullo: three musicians and producers with a shared passion for funk, afrobeat and dub, and the experience required to translate those influences into contemporary dance music. The group’s sound is built through live interaction. Loparco’s bass and Zullo’s guitar form the rhythmic backbone, while Brini moves between drums, percussion, keyboards, vocals and production. Their approach combines vintage recording techniques with the precision and weight of modern club music, preserving the raw energy of a band without treating the studio as a neutral space. All three musicians arrive with substantial individual backgrounds. Brini records solo material as Frank Agrario, with releases for Prins Thomas’s Internasjonal and Solardisco, and has worked as a drummer with electronic pioneers Swayzak. The trio have also travelled as the backing band for American singer and songwriter Jeff Jones.
