Italian Dance Wave – Disco Tre was released by Slow Motion Records in 2016 as part of the label’s series dedicated to the different strands of contemporary Italian dance music.
The record brings together Discodromo, Fratelli Riviera, DJ Rocca and Le Macchine, with the latter contributing “Greg”, a six-minute track built around raw analogue synths, drum machines and slowly evolving modulations.
Le Macchine was formed by Luca Saponaro, Cristian Croce and Nicola Mazzetti, bringing together musicians already active through projects including The Love Supreme, The Heels Of Love, Boot & Tax and The Barking Dogs. Conceived around an essentially analogue setup, the project explored the area between house, disco, psychedelic electronics and the physical unpredictability of machines played in real time.
