Now Is the Future EP
Following our collaboration on Alien Dancer EP, I returned to the studio with Dove Quiete for two tracks on Now Is the Future EP, the fourth release on his Muovo Musica Records.
Dove Quiete’s music has always moved through different corners of underground club culture without feeling the need to settle into a single language. Acid, electro, bass music, techno and punk attitude coexist less as clearly separated influences than as different components of the same restless approach and Now Is the Future continues in that direction.
The EP consists of four tracks written and produced by Guglielmo Prati aka Dove Quiete, with my contribution as Sapo on the B-side tracks Passing To Present and Curami.
The collaboration developed naturally from the work we had already begun together. Rather than trying to smooth out our different musical approaches, the sessions became a place where they could overlap: machine rhythms, distorted electronics, acid lines and fragments of melody moving between direct dancefloor energy and something deliberately rougher and less predictable. Across the four tracks, the record shifts continuously between styles. Electro structures collide with techno, bass-heavy rhythms and traces of punk, maintaining a raw character that has become central to the identity of Muovo Musica.
For me, Passing To Present and Curami represent another chapter in an ongoing exchange with Dove Quiete, music developed through collaboration rather than through a fixed stylistic formula.
The EP was produced in Milan in 2024 and mastered at Prisma Sonoro Studio by Claudio Brioschi.
Released by Muovo Musica Records in March 2025.
