Chaos Ashram Live @ Detune
On 16 October 2025, Chaos Ashram made its first live appearance at Detune in Milan, opening a Serendeepity night alongside Nicola Mazzetti and Marcello.
Chaos Ashram is a new project initiated by Sapo and developed in collaboration with Giozzu, also known as Giovanni Zurlo. Its music moves through electronic dub, placing bass, space, repetition and live manipulation at the centre of the sound.
For this first performance, the project took shape as a compact ensemble of trumpet, bass, electronics and guitar. Rather than reproducing fixed studio arrangements, the musicians used this reduced setup to build the music directly on stage, allowing delays, textures and instrumental fragments to shift throughout the set.
Giozzu is a musician and producer as well as one half of I Tordi, the independent Milanese duo founded with Adam Abd El Aziz in 2018. I Tordi’s self-produced work crosses techno, post-punk, electronic music and contrasting vocal forms. This experience enters Chaos Ashram through a different language, oriented toward dub, improvisation and the physical interaction between electronic and acoustic sound.
The Detune performance marked the beginning of Chaos Ashram as a live project: an open framework designed to evolve through new sessions, configurations and collaborations.
